The fun of just sitting back in your big comfy seat and watching the scenery roll by can't be matched by any other mode of travel. Train travel has so much more going for it than just being a way to get from one place to another. The romance of train travel cant be beat. Watching the conductor move about the cars dealing with the passengers. Listening to the announcements on the public address system describing the scenery and naming the towns you are passing through just has a certain charm about it that other forms of travel just don't have.

There are many ways to travel by train. There is the short commuter train travel where you and many others ride a somewhat short distance into a major city in your area. Even if you are not going to work like almost everyone else on the train, this type of train travel should be experienced at least once. This type of train travel is a subculture all its own. In this type of train travel, most of these people have been riding this train back and forth to work together for years, yet most of them don't know one another.

Of course, with this type of train travel, you can get off at every stop if you wish and spend a few minutes, hours or days seeing the sights. With this type of train travel you can even get a sleeping car or small room of your own which makes it so much more comfortable and private. You will meet all sorts of interesting people on the train. People who travel by train just seem a little more friendly. And the longer time spent together when you travel by train allows you more time to get to know each other. Train travel is a more leisurely way to travel so everyone is more relaxed. When you travel by train you can play cards or other games with your fellow passengers. And many a romance has been kindled into flame due to the romantic atmosphere of train travel. Train travel is so much more than just a way to get from here to there. The mystery and nostalgia of it really stir the emotions.
