Have you ever spent a long uncomfortable time trapped on board a jet? This is one of the pains of travel. At a certain point during the flight you just want to jump up out of your seat and run up and down the aisle screaming. Sometimes travel can be so uncomfortable. the airlines today are cramming more people on every flight. They have redesigned the cabin of the airplane to fit more seat so everything is smaller than it used to be and of course we, the travelers are all bigger than we used to be so this makes for a very poor match.

The pain of travel is enhanced by the lack of fresh air in the airplane. You spend hours breathing in other people's germs when you travel. It is no wonder that after a flight many people come down with some sort of respiratory ailment. I don't think they make any attempt to purify the air. they just get you up to 35,000 and lock you in this pressurized cylinder and let you breath the polluted air until you land at your travel destination. Maybe then they let a little fresh air in, but sometimes it doesn't seem so. And of course, once you land and you have endured hours of airborne torture, you think, "thank god I can finally get off this stinking plane." but oh no, the pains of travel are not over. You will have to taxi around for an hour while the ground crew drives around in their little vehicles wasting more of your time. No, the pain of travel is not over for you. Not by a long shot.

there is more pain to come. They may let you off the plane eventually. After everyone has stood up and crammed the aisles full of the bodies and their stupid oversized carry-ons. Why do people travel with those giant bags? Why do the airlines let them get on the plane with those things? So eventually you get off the plane after standing in the aisle for what seems like another hour or so, but is the pain of travel over? No. Now you must get your checked baggage. But will it be there in a timely fashion? No. And of course you must travel almost as far from the plane to the baggage claim area as you traveled to get to your destination. But the pain of travel is not ended when you get the to the baggage carousel at the same time and of course all of your luggage won't be there. somehow the baggage throwers as the beginning of your travels didn't get all of your luggage on the plane.
