When you visit Costa Rica, you want to see the amazing volcanoes. Although there are over one hundred volcanoes, only about seven may be considered active. A famous volcano found in Costa Rica is Irazu. People who vacation in Costa Rica want to see the volcano that is considered the most active. Although you are a distance from the volcano, you can see the beauty that surrounds the volcano. Tourists as well as scientist will sit for hours and just watch the volcano and glaze about the area from a cliff top. It is a great way to plan a picnic and watch the area. This volcano is located by San Jose.

You will find that hiking, rafting, mountain bike riding, camping, kayaking, boating, fishing and exploring around the volcanoes is something that everyone enjoys. This is because the areas around the volcanoes are scenic and offers many aspects of nature and sights that the volcanoes created. There are many volcanoes besides Irazu including the Guancaste area, which has Turrialba, Barva, Poas, Ricon de la Viela and Miravalles volcanoes. If you visit the Talamanco area, you can see the only volcano in the area, El Viejo. The Arenal in the San Jose area is also a popular attraction for visitors.

The Arenal volcano is spectacular to watch for hours. You will see it giving off stream and hot gases regularly. This volcano is located in the Arenal National Park. Visitors to Costa Rica enjoy an entire day sitting and watching the spectacular volcano. When you visit the volcanoes, you can see the fresh green vegetation and on some days, you see for miles. This is the attraction to the volcanoes as well. People enjoy learning more about the volcanoes, what the history is all about surrounding the eruptions as well as how the area around the volcano became so scenic.

In Costa Rica, you can plan a volcano tour. They have tours that take you to famous volcanoes and you spend about an hour at each one. You can visit the little souvenir shops at the volcanoes that are set up for tourists and have a lunch and be back to your hotel for dinner. This tour is great for people who want a guide tell you a little history about the volcano and you do not need your own transportation. If you would like to find a hotel near a volcano, you might enjoy the Tabacon Resort, which offers all guests a view of the active volcano anytime of the day.

When you visit the Irazu volcano, you will want to visit the Botanical Gardens and maybe take the rainforest tour and a Tabacon Hot Springs tour. Everyone enjoys the volcano tours, but you can also plan your day seeing the volcanoes without the tour. It is just much nicer having a tour guide. You will want to see everything Costa Rica offers including the volcanoes. Plan your trip and enjoy the other attractions as well as the fine dining and spectacular nightlife.
