Holiday Travel

Holiday travel can be quite challenging. Everyone wants to get somewhere. Some folks are heading home. some folds are visiting relatives. And some folks are going on vacation. Around the holidays with the kids all out of school, everybody is going some place. For many, holiday travel is a must. A family obligation that must be met. Perhaps you have not seen your aging parents since last year and they might not be around next year so you better do some holiday travel.

Of course, holiday travel by air can be quite difficult. The airlines are all very busy during the holidays. In order to assure yourself a seat you must book well in advance and if you don't want to spend a fortune on the ticket, you had better book your flight many months in advance. since the flights will all be crowded, you must begin your holiday travel early and get to the airport three or four hours before takeoff. The increased crowds at the airport mean heightened security so be prepared to stand in long lines. With long waits everywhere, people will be testy, so mentally prepare yourself ahead of time to deal with all the extra stress.

If you are doing your holiday travel with children, pack plenty of snacks and games for them to play and still be prepared to spend a fortune at the airport on all the overpriced junk they are going to be begging for. It will save a lot of wear and tear on yourself if you just give in early and give in often and if you expect things to go this way, it will be a whole lot easier on everyone and you holiday travel will go a lot smoother.

Holiday travel by car is an important part of family bonding. no childhood is complete without memories of all those close and fun hours spent in the car with parents and siblings. Holiday travel is a time for families to get close by spending quality time together in the car. Oh what fun we all had when growing up when we went riding to grandma's house in the car. Holiday travel was such fun in the back seat fighting with our brothers and sisters and then being slapped by our mothers and threatened with bodily farm by our fathers. Holiday travel was such a great experience for us and I am sure our parents enjoyed it too.
