Shopping on the Hampton Bays main street is a true treat and there are plenty of sidewalk cafes where you can relax with a coffee or glass of wine while you examine your wares.
Boating enthusiasts love Hampton Bays and the Shinnecock Canal where large yachts owned by well-known politicians and celebrities are docked. Walk down to the Canoe Place Inn, a historic landmark built in 1750, and you never know who you may see going out for day on the bay. Shinnecock is also a well-known fishing area where you can catch some of the best blue bass on the island.
If you wish to charter a boat for a day, you can do so at Soleau's Wharf and Marina, located near Shinnecock. You can charter a sail boat or speed boat during the warm weather and hob-nob with some local celebrities, or simply enjoy a quiet day on a luxury boat.
The beaches are fabulous at Hampton Bays. The Ponquogue Beacch has lifeguards, volleyball courts, food, picnic areas, showers and restrooms and offers chair and umbrella rentals. For a beautiful day at the beach, you must visit Ponquogue Beach in Hampton Bays.
Nature enthusiasts will love Sears Bellows County Park which features 693 acres of the best hiking and biking in the Hamptons. Here you can also fish in clear water ponds, ride horses, or spend a romantic day renting a rowboat and picnicking at this scenic, pristine park. Sears Bellows County Park has virtually something for all nature enthusiasts and an entire day can easily be spent exploring this beautiful part of the island blessed by Mother Nature.
