One of the positives of RV Vacations is that it is a low cost vacation. You can save a lot of money on accommodations as you stay in the RV. In addition, you do not need to eat outside food as there is an in built kitchenette provided. Thus, a major chunk of expenses is curtailed. But there are certain costs that are attached to RV Vacations. So if you are traveling on a shoe string budget, you really need to minimize the costs as much as possible.

Tips Of Minimizing The Cost In RV Vacations

One of the best ways to minimize cost is to choose the places where you intend to spend the night carefully. If you select a full-service campground or RV park, then you must be ready to shell out good amount of money. The cost will be higher if it is connected to the highway. You can save money if you decide to stay in places that are more into the interiors and that do not offer too many facilities. So before venturing on your RV vacations, you must consult a campground directory to be aware of the various campgrounds. A state park or maybe a recreation area offers you even lower rates for the night. But you need to keep in mind that you will be given only basic amenities and no more.

If you are keen on saving a lot of money on your RV Vacations, then you might consider camping free of charge in a national park or on federal Bureau of Land Management or BLM land. Since they do not charge you for anything, that means that they are not going to offer you any hook ups or other facilities. But if your RV has solar panels or is equipped with a good power system, you can stay here for a long time without paying any money. Now, that is quite a saving!

There are two things that you need to be aware of when you are putting up in federal campgrounds free of cost. One thing is that such free grounds are usually located at places which have very difficult roads. So if you are planning to camp free, you need to have a sturdy RV that will be able to bear the jolts of the tough roads. Another factor that you need to keep in mind is that these grounds will be very crowded especially during peak seasons. However, it is not too difficult to save money if you plan ahead and then travel.
