Finding time to exercise while you are traveling isn't always easy. You won't always have easy access to a fully stocked gym filled with cardiovascular machines, dumbbells and weight lifting machines. The key to exercising when you are traveling is to be creative and to be open to different forms of exercise than you are used to performing at home. There is some portable equipment that can be used while you are traveling and you might be able to find access to a gym if you are creative.

Whether you are a college student or retired, we have all had spontaneous desires to jump in the car for a road trip. But you might want to put on the brakes before you leave the driveway to prepare yourself and make your road trip worthwhile.

The most important thing to do before leaving is to look at maps and to plan your route. Check out maps and directions online, and research any construction that may get in your way. From these, make estimates of travel times so you can have an idea of when you will need to stop for rest and meals. Additionally, you will know when to avoid traveling through major cities during rush hour.

In terms of car maintenance, there are several things you will want to check out. Get a full service oil change, which will include a check of the filters, belts, fluid levels, etc. Check the condition of your wiper blades along with the operation of turn signals, brake lights, and high/low beams. Depending on the time of year and your route, you may need weather-oriented products such as anti-freeze and an ice scraper and examine the treads on your tires.

Pack an emergency kit including motion sickness medication, bottled water, emergency flashers, jumper cables, etc. Remove any items from your car that you will not need on your trip.

Check plates, registration, and insurance information to make sure they are all valid. Also, insure that all drivers in your party are licensed and insured on the policy. As a young man, I did a lot of travel by hitchhiking. It was an exciting and affordable way to get from one place to another. The great thing about travel by hitchhiking is that you really get to know your country and you can meet a lot of strange and interesting people in the process. These days, travel by hitchhiking is probably too dangerous to be considered a viable alternative to other travel methods, but back even as late as the 1970's, travel by hitchhiking wasn't always dangerous. Oh, yes there was the occasional serial killer cruising the highways back then, but by and large travel by hitchhiking was relatively safe. Not that you didn't run into more than your share of crazies, but I guess people just weren't all that homicidal back then.

Travel by hitchhiking is the ultimate in freedom. You can't be on a schedule when you travel by hitchhiking so you just have to relax and let it take as long as it takes. Sometimes you don't even have a set route when you travel by hitchhiking. You just let the rides take you wherever they will. It can be a real adventure. One thing is for certain, travel by hitchhiking is rarely dull. You might end up in some strange places with weird people you hardly know, but what is wrong with that? And you know you can't beat the price of travel by hitchhiking.

Another great part of travel by hitchhiking is that you get most of the benefits of a car without having any of the responsibilities. When you travel by hitchhiking, if you get a ride and the care breaks down, well it is too bad and you help all you can, but ultimately it is not your problem and you can just thumb another ride and forget about it. No dealing with surly tow truck drivers or dishonest mechanics. No hanging around town waiting for spare parts to be shipped in from Japan. Nope, travel by hitchhiking gives you the freedom of just moving on.

And moving on is what travel by hitchhiking is all about. there are always new places to go and new people to meet when you travel by hitchhiking. And on the read, everybody's got a story and some of them are quite fascinating. Travel puts you right out in the middle of life. When you travel by hitchhiking you can't avoid life. It is more spontaneous and colorful than when you have more control of your travel as you do when you travel by other means.

Time Travel

Is time travel really possible? so many science fiction books and movies are about time travel. but is it really possible? Can a person ever go back in time? Will time travel make it possible to go in to the future? Since we don't really understand the nature of time, maybe time travel is possible. But it sure seems unlikely. Take time travel into the past for example. I feel that our present reality is a function of past events and that if event the smallest thing were different about the past then the present might be completely different and the time traveler could not return to the circumstances of the moment when he left. for instance, say your are alive and well right now, but what if this morning you were delayed leaving your house by even only one minute. Wouldn't everything be different? Couldn't that one minute's difference change everything? Maybe you missed getting hit by bus by one minute or one minute after you walked past a construction site a giant crane collapsed and crushed the sidewalk where you were just a minute before? It seems that the smallest change to the past can make a huge difference in the future. So how then would time travel be possible?

Just by the fact that a time traveler was there in the past, changes the past. So then time travel to the past changes the future and if time travel changes the future, who knows what it could look like? But if the future is changed then the time traveler himself may not exist because his life was changed and maybe he didn't survive long enough to time travel. Or maybe time travel itself didn't get invented because the time travel to the past changed the future, but then if time travel didn't exist, there would be to time travel to the past so the future wouldn't have been changed so time travel would have been invented. But then if time travel did get discovered, someone would undoubtedly travel back into the past and that would change things and the whole time travel – no time travel loop would start all over again.

Even thought there are many contradictions inherent in time travel, time travel is a very attractive idea. People have always wished for a means to travel back into the past to undo misdeeds and the thought of being able to travel into the future and see what civilization would be like in one hundred, five hundred or even thousands of years is very stimulating to the imagination. But for the present at least, time travel remains in the imagination unless something in the future changes and then someone travels back to this time and the time travel will exist right now.
